Market face denotes Disapproval, and consists of tightly pursed lips. We all do it, unconsciously.
The prompt was to make something of a bag and I whipped together a face from those flimsy plastic bags the grocery (or should I say supermarket) industry foisted on us all those years ago. Used to be the bag boy (remember them? when they were schoolboys, not retirees?) put your shopping into a brown paper bag and carried it to your car for you. Now you're lucky if anybody bags the wares at all, and if they bring it to the car they expect a tip. Then came those horrid little poly-whatever baggies and they'd ask "Paper or Plastic?". You had a choice. I myself always chose paper, they were so useful for masks and other crafty things. But Popular Wisdom said trees were endangered and we shouldn't cut them down to make bags, so pretty soon it was "Is plastic OK?" and eventually, they didn't ask. Well, it didn't take too long for those filmy bags to start cluttering up the landscape and causing a dreadful littering problem and getting wound around the throats of bunnies and sea turtles and all that, so now the stores have come up with the "innovative" idea of reusable, woven bags and if you live in a city of Trendy Young Things, there's a lot of Guilt attached to accepting the plastic bags.
I bet my Grandmamma is laughing her head off in Heaven at the Earnest youngsters who think they invented a bring-your-own-bag. (Not to mention the fact that the bags are made of the same plastic as before, only now it's woven so it looks like fabric. And it still goes to the landfill when the straps break.)
Anyway, the baggie face seemed to be wearing the Market Face, so here it is.
