There has been rain every day since I got here and it's storming again this afternoon.
I drove into town and a rabbit ran in front of my car. Can you see it? Talk about camouflage.
The ear is orange, then you can see the eye just below it.
The air is crisp and cool and it smells nice. This is Pinon pine. The nuts are edible, though these are not ripe yet.
Of course there are a few chickens as well. Freshest breakfast imaginable.
M's house has a lot of cedar wood in it. The inside smells as wonderful as the outdoors.
The Gulf Coast is very smelly. Humidity makes everything decay rapidly, and there's the smell of Sea, the odors of seaweed and shrimp, the stink of garbage fermenting, of dog poop sweltering and of course, the various stenches emanating from refineries, some of which are so awful that they burn them off at night to offend the lesser amount of nostrils. Up here, it all seems so clean.
